Artificial Intelligence Policy
Artificial Intelligence Policy
In this policy, AI tools will be defined as those that make use of generative artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, large language models (LLMs), chatbots (like ChatGPT), and AI-assisted picture generators.
We acknowledge that AI tools have the potential to enhance human-generated material in terms of quality, accessibility, and clarity. Nonetheless, it is crucial to preserve the integrity of the scientific record. We have listed guidelines and principles for the usage of AI tools in J Fac Med Baghdad on this page to help authors navigate this environment. This demonstrates our dedication to maintaining the legitimacy and validity of academic contributions.
Rules for Writers Who Use AI Tools
- J Fac Med Baghdad does not permit content that is entirely produced by an AI technology without any discernible human input.
- AI tools should only be applied to enhance human-generated text's quality, accessibility, or language.
- Images, figures, movies, and schematics should not be created with AI technologies.
- You must include a cover letter at submission if your manuscript contains AI tools.
- You may be asked to include more information in the document in the Material and Methods section and the declaration section, such as the name and version of the AI tool, its goal, prompts, and input.
- There may be certain exceptions, such as manuscripts that are only about machine learning or AI technologies.
- If you have any questions, get in touch with the journal’s staff; they will consider each case separately.
- Because AI tools are incapable of thinking, making creative contributions, being held accountable for the content they produce, or signing copyright agreements, they cannot be regarded as authors of articles published in J Fac Med Baghdad.
- The accuracy of the text, figures, and references in the authors' manuscript is their responsibility. Avoid replicating information and get rid of any biases that AI tools could bring in order to preserve originality and avoid plagiarism.
